If you receive "Error 1316: A network error occurred..." when attempting to install ComapnionLink, you can generally fix it by doing the following:
1. Cancel your CompanionLink installation.
2. In Windows, go to Start -> Run, type "regedit" without quotes, then OK.
3. In Registry Editor, go to Edit -> Find...
4. Type CompanionLink.msi, then click "Find Next". Registry Editor should return the following registry location:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\<some random CL product code>\SourceList
5. Delete the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\<some random CL product code>\ registry key (this is the key that's one-level higher than "SourceList").
6. Run the CompanionLink installer again.
